(Another) New Website

Hey guys – I’m starting another new website. I am going to get a little more in depth with my cooking adventures – posting recipes, success stories, disasters, and everything else. I think that people may be interested to see what an ordinary non-experienced cook goes through in the learning process.

Anyway…. I need a name. I found a couple domain names that are available, but I don’t know what I want! Please, please help me! The two I found so far are www.carriecooks.com and www.newbiechef.com. There is also www.carrieiscooking.com, but that’s too much when carriecooks is available. Any other suggestions are welcome.

The site is going to be blog style, run off of wordpress. I set it up on a free webhost for the time being, but hopefully I will have to transfer because my site generates too much traffic, lol! You can see the temporary page here, but there isn’t anything to it yet.

Stupid blog…

Grrr! I’ve had a very frustrating experience maintaining my WordPress blog. I finally have it back to normal after hours of messing with it.

I needed to delete a mass amount of posts from my WP yesterday, so I downloaded a plugin aptly named the “Mass Post Manager” to do this for me. Unfortunately, I also deleted a default file from my WP as well, and I just couldn’t figure out how to get it back. I ended up un-installing and then re-installing the entire blog. Of course, the re-install was of an upgraded version of WP, not the older version I was using. Guess what that means! Some of my plugins are not compatible with the new version of WP ~ hooray! </sarcasm>

The reason I even use WP in the first place is because it allows me to crosspost my entries to all of my different blogs at once. Come to find out, my Livejournal crossposter is the one plugin that doesn’t work. Anyway… after googling FOREVER, I finally came across a solution for it that involved manually changing my username and password in my database. I gotta tell you guys, the database stuff scares the crap out of me. I have no idea what I am going in there and I could delete something very important if I’m not careful. I managed not to screw up too badly and got everything working again, thank goodness.

I have an entry to write about cooking as well, but I will save that for another post later.
