… This is the cutest puppy I have ever seen. He is a huge bundle of energy, wow!
When he first came home, Seth had a complete and utter meltdown. He was crying as if we had murdered his best friend. “I don’t want Ninja to stay – I don’t want Ninja to live here!” I gotta say, that is the exact opposite of what I expected! Well, there were some “emergency” items we needed to run to Petco for (dog dish, leash) and I let Seth come with me to pick something out for the dog. He was excited to be in the pet store and he calmed down considerably. We bought him a Beta fish so he could have a pet of his own and that made him happy. We brought Ninja to school this morning and Seth was proudly displaying him to all of his friends, so everything is fine now.
We spent a fairly sleepless night, however. Ninja is a beagle/basset (Bagle, lol) and both breeds are prone to barking at the slightest provocation. He was very whiny for most of the night. We kenneled him briefly (I thought he would feel safer), but that didn’t matter at all. He finally settled on his (new) doggie bed and let us sleep until 4:30am.
As far as the cats go, Ninja is pretty much scared of them. Polo walked right up to the dog and bopped him on the nose as if to say “This is MY house, dog.” He spent a good portion of the morning chasing the dog around the house and trying to force him into submission. That was funny, lemme tell you. Marko has been MIA since the arrival of the dog. He was on Ted’s lap when Ninja and I came home from school this morning and literally tried to climb the wall to escape when we walked in the room. He’s pretty much terrified.
