Well – I haven’t felt too much like blogging lately, between my own personal LJ boycott and real life interference. I found that I really suck at boycotting LJ, though… I’m still on there ten times a day and it’s still set to be my homepage. Meh.

My kitty Marko is sick. He started acting funny, not eating or drinking, peeing and vomiting all over the place and basically just sitting there. He wouldn’t even run away from the dog! We brought him to the ER vet on Monday night and they couldn’t say for sure what was wrong. Just that he has a UTI and his toxin levels were hight (meaning his kidneys are not operating properly.) The kidneys not working can be due to something as simple as dehydration, or something as complicated as… welll… kidney failure. They put him on some meds and sent him home.

My vet called to check up on him Tuesday. When I told them there was no change, they suggested that he be hospitalized. The vet said the same thing the ER doc said – kidneys, not sure why, blah blah blah. They hooked him up to IV fluids to get him hydrated and then we’ll know if it’s dehydration or what. So, that’s what’s going on with Marko right now. He’s still there, as of yesterday there still hasn’t been a change, even with the IV fluids.

The ER vet was ridiculously expensive at $375. I can’t imagine that my regular vet is going to be much cheaper after (at least) a two night stay. I’m not sure how we will pay for this.
